I’ve did a little update on my iRacing FFB Tool to output clipping data through the serial port. That allowed me to use the same TM1638 display of my “DIY Shiftlights and Dashboard” project to show Force Feedback clipping information in real time, without having to use the sim in Windowed mode. The result can be seen in the video below:
To check out how to do the same, just go tho the “iRacing FFB Tool” page or click the link below:
I did another dashboard with shiftlights project, but this time using some “ready to use” hardware that you can find very cheap on DealExtreme. Check it out:
Fresh new project: a brake vibration system for the G27 pedals (or any pedal in fact), similar to the Fanatec CSP, that will create some sort of feedback on your brake pedal. Very useful under heavy braking to “feel” the wheel locking threshold. Check it out:
I just updated the iRacing Wind Simulation page to include it’s source code and schematics, as promised. This is definitely one of the most simple sim racing gadgets you can build. Check it out by clicking the link below:
Took this Sunday to fill the site with the simracing projects and tools I’ve created. Most of them were designed to work with iRacing, since it’s my sim of choice, but you should be able to port it to other sims fairly easy. Right now I’ve added the following content, that you can find at the menu on the right:
TOOLS
iRacing Force FeedBack Clipping Tool
Detects FFB clipping in real time, calculates an optimal strength multiplier and generates torque charts to help you detect force feedback clipping
iRacing iAlert
Gadget to remind you when an online session is about to start in iRacing.com
iPhone Gauges
Use your iPhone or Android phone to display RPM, speed and fuel gauges
iRacing LiveTiming
Show live race/qualify/practice standings on your website
PROJECTS
DIY Dashboard
A do-it-yourself physical dashboard using an Arduino board that has shift lights, gear indicator, switches, warning lights and rotary encoders
DIY Wind simulator
Using an Arduino to control a fan based on your current car speed
Welcome to FergoTech. Some people might already know me or my projects from the iRacing forums or InsideSimRacing, where I appeared in a couple of episodes. I decided to create this page so I can concentrate all my sim racing softwares and projects in a single place and make them accessible to people outside of iRacing world, as some stuff in here might be useful in other sims too.
I’m still polishing some bits of content and layout, but most things are already done. Hope you enjoy this new website and take some time to visit my personal webpage too: www.fergonez.net
